So Many Ways to VisiT!
Plan Your Visit

Accessibility
We aim to make the museum as accessible as possible for all visitors. The building has ramp access and wheelchair access throughout all public areas.
Due to the historic nature of the site, some floor surfaces may be uneven in places. Care should be taken when moving around the museum.
Please also note that, due to the design and layout of some historic vehicles, not all vehicles are wheelchair accessible internally, although all exhibits can be viewed from the surrounding floor areas.
If you have any specific access requirements or questions before your visit, please feel free to get in touch and we will be happy to help.
Café
We have a small café located inside the museum, offering a selection of snacks, hot drinks, and toasties. It is a great place to take a break during your visit.
Visitors are also welcome to bring their own food.

Parking
Parking
Free parking is available directly outside the museum, with accessible parking spaces and step-free access.
There is also free parking available on Market Street, located just outside the museum.
Dogs Welcome
Well-behaved dogs are very welcome in the museum and receive free entry.
We also provide a dog bowl and dog biscuits on arrival to help keep your four-legged visitors comfortable.

Toilets
Male and female toilets are available on site.
The female toilet also includes an accessible toilet with baby-changing facilities.
By Bus
Several local bus services operate along Broughty Ferry Road, with stops close to the museum. The 5 or 5A (Xplore Dundee) and the 74 (Stagecoach) all stop on Market Street, from where the museum is approximately a 2-minute walk away.
Directions for walking and driving can be found on the map below.
Xplore Dundee buses 5 & 5A also stop near the museum.
You can find travel information and download the timetable here.
On Foot
The museum is approximately a 20–25 minute walk from Dundee city Centre. We recommend using Broughty Ferry Road as the most direct and pedestrian-friendly route.
Please note that East Dock Street is best avoided, as online maps (including Google Maps) may suggest this route, but it is not ideal for walking.
How To Find Us
