Star Objects
Some of our vehicles are marked with a star, which means visitors are welcome to sit inside and explore them for a more hands-on experience.
As many of these vehicles are historic and delicate, we kindly ask visitors to take extra care when entering and exiting, and to be mindful of the interiors. Children should be supervised at all times.
Perament Display
Our permanent displays form the core of the Dundee Museum of Transport and showcase a wide range of historic vehicles and transport-related objects. These displays highlight the development of transport in Dundee and the surrounding area, from everyday vehicles to more unusual and iconic examples.
Permanent displays are available to view throughout the year and are supported by information panels, photographs, and interactive elements, allowing visitors to explore the stories behind the vehicles and the people who used them.
Alongside our permanent displays, we also introduce temporary and changing exhibits. there is often something new to discover on return visits.
Children's Corner
We have a small children’s area where younger visitors can enjoy hands-on activities. This includes a driving simulator, as well as drawing and colouring activities, giving children a fun space to play and get creative during their visit. Children should be supervised at all times.
Vehicle Storage
Should you have a vehicle to store, no matter how large or small, Dundee Museum of Transport may be able to help. Our premises at the Seagate might have space to store vehicles, motor-cycles, caravans etc. The facilities are under cover and benefit from 24-hour CCTV surveillance. Access to the vehicles is available by request.
To be eligible to store your vehicle you must have a current museum membership. Costs to store vehicles start at £36 per month (inc VAT) for a car, and £60 per month (inc VAT) for a bus or truck. For any other vehicles, please contact the museum for costs. Please note that no work is permitted on any vehicles held in storage.
