Women’s work in transport

2pm Friday 12th March

In the UK women make up 42% of the workforce, however, only make up 20% of the transport sector. Data analysis and collection often overlooks the gendered aspect of transport and the difference in how men and women experience transport. Data shows that women used public transport more regularly than men and in very different patterns, outside of travelling to and from work.

In partnership with Dundee Women's Festival, Dundee Museum of Transport is holding an online mini-conference with prominent women within the transport sector from across Dundee and Scotland, who will discuss their career journey and experiences in different roles within the industry. We hope this will inspire, encourage and empower women to not be intimidated to enter a sector currently dominated by men.
