Breaking Barriers: Women in Transport Symposium
March 5 @ 9:30 am - 12:30 pm
As part of the “Women Making Waves” Dundee Women’s Festival 2020, Dundee Museum of Transport is delighted to host the symposium “Breaking Barriers: Women in Transport. Women make up less than 25% of the UK transport sector workforce and are massively under-represented in senior positions. Why is this? What can be done to improve the gender balance in the transport sector?
To investigate this issue further, Dundee Museum of Transport will host speakers from the world of transport, including Claire Gilmore (Traffic Commissioner for Scotland), Christine McGlasson (Managing Director, Xplore) and Laura Murdoch (Director of Bus, Accessibility and Active Travel, Transport Scotland) who will share their experiences and knowledge and discuss the opportunities for women in transport as well as the barriers. The symposium will be followed by an optional lunch and tour at Dundee Museum of Transport.
This symposium is part-funded by the Museums Galleries Scotland Festival Fund.
