Vehicle Register

Dundee Museum of Transport (DMofT) members can sign up to the DMofT Vehicle Register. The register will allow members to take their vehicle(s) to a number of shows throughout the year under the Dundee Museum of Transport banner.

Vehicles must be roadworthy (M.O.T, taxed and insured) and vehicle owners will be responsible for their own fees to attend the shows.

We intend to go to the following shows:

Tayside Classic Car Club (Errol) 11th June

Lathalmond 18th June

Glamis 8th / 9th August

Dundee Motor Show 13th August

Ladybank 20th August

Scone 9th / 10th September

(This is not an exhaustive list – more dates may be added)

MZ Riders Club – South of Scotland Branch visit the museum

We were happy to welcome the MZ Riders Club – South of Scotland Branch to the museum on Sunday 26 July 2015.
The MZRC is a national club, primarily for owners of MZ motorcycles or anyone interested in the marque, although these days the club is open to anyone with an interest in motorcycles generally as you probably gathered from the motley collection that turned up on Sunday.

Successful Volvo Meeting

Message received from the Scottish Volvo Owners Club

“Just a brief note to thank you very much for your hospitality on Sunday last. We enjoyed the day immensely and had our best attendance for ages. We had folk from north of Aberdeen to Lancaster, and I am sure word of your museum will spread from there! The great weather helped, and I apologise if some of the members were reluctant to leave! If the owner of the Volvo 144 in your collection ever wants to sell it I am sure there will be a queue waiting! (One member told us he had bought his Volvo at a car boot sale!!)

Thanks again and Best Wishes for your continued growth

A very busy Sunday

On Sunday 8 June 2014 not only was Dundee Museum of Transport open as usual but we also were busy promoting it at two local events – WestFest and The Tayside Classic Car Club Show.

Some photos from both of these events have now been added to our Events Photos 2014 page.

Don’t forget that time is running out to submit entries for our own Motor Show on Saturday 10 August 2014 – click here for more information and to download an entry form.

DMofT relaunches the Dundee Motor Show – 10 August 2014

Since August 2010 Dundee Museum of Transport has been attending the annual Baxter Park celebrations, showcasing some of our vehicles, photographs and memorabilia.

This year we are planning on bringing the once-popular Dundee Motor Show back to the local events calendar and linking it with our appearance at Baxter Park. However to do so we need the support of as many individuals, clubs, societies and companies as possible to allow us to put on a diverse display.

The event takes place on Sunday 10 August 2014 from 12-5pm at Baxter Park, Arbroath Road, Dundee, DD4 6NL.

More information and a link to download an entry form can be found by clicking here.
